This month, we introduce wood, a natural material that shines more in autumn. Although it is a very old and familiar material, wood still represents luxury and is used in various products. How will wood change when it meets advanced technology? Here, we introduce the sophisticated transformation of wood.

Karuun, Sustainable Wood

Karuun has developed a sustainable, eco-friendly material using natural rattan that grows very quickly and is easy to harvest. Karuun uses a patented processing technology to process through the capillaries of rattan to design creative shapes and properties. Karuun’s natural technology materials are classified into block, stripe, 3D, and shine according to their subdivided characteristics.

Lamellux, Combination of Wood and Transparency

We poured a layer of resin (LxResin) between two pieces of wood to give unexpected transparency, creating a light and cheerful stained-glass effect. This material, which transmits light naturally, has a thick surface, shows the same strength and resistance as hard wood, and has at the same time insulating properties, making it highly versatile. It is applied to wall panels, furniture, headboards, partitions, and many others.

Woodoo, Wood Display

Woodoo transformed and removed *lignin, which composes the color of the wood and affects strength, with our proprietary technology, and reinforced the material with a polymer matrix including bio-based resin to maintain the material of wood while improving tensile strength and toughness and increasing the transmittance of wood. The wood material with the touch function can be used for high-end vehicle interior or home appliances.
