The third couture collection by Vaishali, the first Indian female designer invited to the 2024 Paris Haute Couture Week, is themed 'I am Nature.' This collection, emphasizing the absence of distinction between nature and humanity, stems from the realization that we are nature and nature is us.

Reflecting the designer's philosophy of exploring the deep connection between the outer world and our inner selves using handwoven fabrics sourced from various regions of India, it epitomizes the spirit of biophilic design.

The theme of the 2024 FW Burberry collection was 'Outdoor.' The runway of the UK Fashion Week was adorned with grass, and British and Irish wool materials were expressed in various textures and colors, with leather and fur seamlessly integrated into their signature items. The rich colors of green, brown, and yellow evoke nature, and this collection is evaluated as reflecting biophilic design themed around the outdoors.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Leitz Photographica Auction, Leica released the Leica M6 set 'Leitz Auction' in 2023, a limited edition of 20 cameras. The CMF, including 24-carat gold Leitz logo crafted by German goldsmiths, intricately processed walnut veneer, and body and lens hoods finished in glossy black, harmonize with each other, enhancing the luxurious value of the limited-edition product. Additionally, the use of real wood material on the exterior creates a nature-friendly biophilic sensibility, while geometrically engraved patterns add a unique and classic elegance.

Design studios are creating materials based on the biophilic concept by recycling discarded shellfish shells, causing millions of tons of environmental pollution annually. 'Sea stone' is a material created by collecting and processing discarded shellfish shells, mixing them with sand and natural binders to create a unique texture and color resembling stone with the strength of granite.

Marshall's 'Emberton 2' speaker, a collaboration with the Dutch street brand Patta, features an OSB wood pattern printed on it, expressing the rugged sensibility of nature, while the high-saturation orange body and rainbow-colored grill CMF evoke a subtle atmosphere akin to an aurora.

Concept Cars Embracing Nature

The interior of the Audi EV concept car unveiled in 2022 embraces the texture and color of wood as the overall CMF concept, evident in the patterns and colors of the seats and floor materials, exuding the warm sensibility characteristic of wood. The lighting matched for ambiance and the coordinated door garnish create a sophisticated atmosphere, and the ShaiTech display on the driver's entertainment system is a good example of biophilic design motif-inspired CMF design.
